Devonta Freeman
The most obvious play of the
week. In the 4 games that Freeman has started, he has averaged 21-115-2. He is also used heavily in Atlanta’s passing attack
where he has averaged 6 catches for 58 yards a game. Freeman has scored 32 or
more fantasy points in the 4 games he has started. Now he faces the Tennessee
Titans, who rank dead last in DVOA vs the run. Freeman offers the highest floor
and ceiling at the position. Get him into your lineups.
“The next Adrian Peterson”
finds himself in a great spot coming off a bye. Todd Gurley gets to play the
Cleveland Brown’s “defense” that has given up the 4th most fantasy
points to RB’s on the season. Gurley ripped off big run after big run against
the solid defenses of Green Bay and Arizona… Imagine what he’ll do to the
Browns. He is dramatically underpriced on draftkings at $5000. I suggest you
roster him everywhere.
LeSean McCoy
It pains me to say this but I
like LeSean McCoy this week. He’s finally looking healthy, and he plays the
Jaguars this week that have been getting torched by pass-catching RB’s all
season long. The Bills are -4 point favorites and Karlos Williams, Sammy
Watkins and Percy Harvin have all been ruled out. Expect Rex Ryan to feed Shady
the ball.
Latavius Murray
If we’ve learned anything
from the 2015 NFL season, it’s that the Chargers have a ridiculously soft run
defense. After getting benched in 2 consecutive weeks (before the bye week) for
inefficiency due to a shoulder injury, Murray should be healthy and ready to
go. A big play threat and effective in the passing game, Murray is and should
be used as a workhorse back this week. He is averaging 4.2 yards per carry and
should break off some big runs vs the Chargers. All that being said, I am
extremely worried about the usage Roy Helu and Marcel Reece have been getting,
especially in the passing game (which kills Latavius’ value on ppr sites like
draftkings). Murray is awkwardly priced at $6100 and it is very easy to pivot
off of him to guys like Lamar Miller and LeSean McCoy. Murray remains a fine
tournament play but tread lightly in cash games.
Dion Lewis
After one bad game people are
hopping off the Dion Lewis hype train. I’m here to tell you to stay aboard that
hype train. Dion Lewis is the real deal. Dealing with an abdominal injury
leading up to week 6’s game with the Colts, the Patriots predictably turned to
LeGarrette Blount to handle the bulk of the carries. This week the Patriots
find themselves in a tougher matchup with the New York Jets. The Patriots’
offensive line is banged up, which means Tom Brady will be under a ton of
pressure leading to check down passes to Dion Lewis. Dion is a risky play
because the Patriots play the following Thursday so they may limit his snaps if
his injury is still lingering. I would say fade Dion in cash games and play him
as a high upside, low owned RB2 in tournaments.
Other Options
Mark Ingram, Arian Foster,
Lamar Miller, Adrian Peterson, Frank Gore
